GlenFamous Arkansan and musician Glen Campbell passed away yesterday (August 9, 2017) at the age of 81.

Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2011 and had recently been living in a permanent care facility in Nashville, Tennessee.

A native of Delight in Pike County, Campbell was considered a pioneer in the field, harnessing accolades such as multiple Grammy Awards and an induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame over his six decade career. He was know as one of the first singers to make the cross between country and pop and his work included songs such Rhinestone Cowboy and Southern Nights.
